Pertama registrasi dulu di situs untuk download vmware server, setelah sukses trus download. Kalau mau download produknya vmware yang lain masuk aja ke situsnya vmware.

Trus kita beralih ke terminal……

$ uname -r

misalkan hasilnya 2.6.XX

$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.XX build-essential xinetd

habis itu, karena saya tadi download vmware di /home :

$ cd /home

$ tar -xzvf VMware-server-2.XXXX.tar.gz

$ cd vmware-server-distrib/

$ ./vmware-install.pl

habis itu muncul banyak pertanyaan, hampir semuanya tak jawab <ENTER> alias default, kecuali path untuk virtual mesin tak ganti ke partisi yang kapasitasnya gedhe.

Setelah itu tak akses lewat kompie lain pake browser.

• Instalasi packages berikut ini :

# apt-get install perl libnet-ssleay-perl openssl libauthen-pam-perl libpam-runtime libio-pty-perl libmd5-perl

• Download webmin terbaru di sini. Contoh download yang saya lakukan

# wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.480_all.deb

• Setelah itu kita install dengan command berikut ini :

# dpkg -i webmin_1.4.80_all.deb

Setelah sukses installnya ada message kayak gini :

Webmin install complete. You can now login to https://hostname_komputer_saya:10000/
as root with your root password, or as any user who can use sudo
to run commands as root.

Nah, setelah itu saya buka web browser terus buka https://hostname_komputer_saya:10000

keluar deh halaman login. Jangan lupa bukanya pake https bukan http thok…

apache2: apr_sockaddr_info_get() failed for SERVERNAME

terus, webnya jadi down… pusing….

Setelah browsing kanan… browsing kiri… akhirnya nemu juga solusinya…

ini solusinya:

# vi /etc/apache2.httpd.conf

punya saya sih isinya kosong, terus isi dengan :

ServerName     nama_komputer_saya

reboot apache2 :

# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Alhamdulillah webku kembali lagi….

Traffic graphs not working?

Graphs are generated by a script, run every five minutes by a cron job. If the graphs are unexpectedly empty, check that the time is correct, and check the System Logs>cron page to see if the makegraphs script is being run every five minutes. If not, try resetting fcron by logging in as “root” and executing the command “fcrontab -z”.

Or, manually run the makegraphs script to see if there are any useful error messages. Log in to a console as “root”, and execute the command “makegraphs”.

If there has been a big time shift in IPCop’s onboard clock, particularly backwards, the RRD (Round Robin Database) files may complain about timing. In this case you may have to consider deleting the database files, which can be found in the /var/log/rrd directory. The database files are recreated when the makegraphs script is next run, but any prior data would be lost.

2 kali saya mengalami kejadian traffic graphs kosong, bisa terselesaikan dengan perintah makegraphs tsb.

IPCop terbaru adalah versi 1.4.21, tetapi untuk file iso yang terakhir adalah versi 1.4.20. Nantinya setelah kita install 1.4.20, kita tinggal  update ke versi 1.4.21.

Untuk dokumentasi(manual dll) IPCop v 1.4 dapat didownload di sini.

Setelah itu saya juga disarankan untuk menambah addon untuk IPCop box saya. Addon bisa didownload di sini.

Oh ya agar IPCop box bisa saya remote, saya mengaktifkan SSH servernya. Sedangkan tool untuk meremote saya memakai PuTTY (bisa didownload di sini) dan juga WinSCP (download di sini), kalau dari desktop linux saya lebih suka memakai gFTP.

Setelah sebelum2nya buat blog cuma buat iseng2, Insya Allah sekarang buat blog lagi dengan satu tujuan : Biar Ingat

Maksud saya begini, blog ini akan saya pakai untuk membuat catatan2 , selanjutnya kalau saya memerlukannya lagi (apalagi saya termasuk pelupa), saya tinggal buka blog ini.

Kalau misalnya catatan2 saya juga berguna buat orang lain, ya Alhamdulillah…….
